• Free Legal Advice for the UK Haulage Industry
We provide specialist advice for the UK Haulage industry, HGV & PSV drivers

About Us

UK Haulage Solicitors are recognised as leading road traffic lawyers specialising in Haulage and Transport Law.

With 15-20 cases in Court at one time, we are the biggest specialist road traffic lawyers in the UK. We are a nationwide firm covering all of England and Wales.

We are different from other firms. Most Solicitors will spend days at Court, leaving you in the hands of their answerphone. At UK Haulage Solicitors we operate with specialist teams.

We have a dedicated advice team ready to offer you free legal advice. We have our Case Progression Team who specialise in preparation and are on hand all day to answer your queries. We then have a panel of specialist Barristers who we instruct to represent our clients at Court. We are dedicated to providing the best service.

Our Representation

Step 1 – Advice

We have a dedicated team of legal advisors on hand to answer your query. Your free advice call is flowed by an advice email.

Our advisors will give you an honest assessment of your case and will quote you a price should you decide to instruct us.

Call us ( click here ) for a FREE advice call or to complete our brief email submission form. We will return any written enquiry within 24 hours.

We advise on any legal issue relating to haulage and transport law, ranging from minor breaches of driver hours and tachograph recordings to any appeal against the suspension of a licence.

We will give you an honest assessment of your case up front so you can make an informed decision as to whether you need our help.

Your initial advice call is absolutely free. There is no obligation to instruct. Every advice call is followed by an email to give you the best information possible to decide whether you need a Solicitor to help with your road traffic matter.

Step 2 – Instructing

Should you decide to instruct our firm we will get to work straight away.

Dominic Smith is our expert Haulage Lawyer and the head of our Case Progression Team. He is one of the UK’s leading Road Traffic Lawyers with over 10 years experience.

Dominic is the first choice of many of the UK’s largest firms and regularly advises companies with fleets of thousands of vehicles. He has represented individual drivers, both employed and self-employed and accepts instructions from operators with a fleet or any size.

Notably Dominic has represented one of the Nation’s largest providers of roadside recovery and was the leading lawyer in the nationally recognised case of DPP v Barreto, which led to a meeting of the Government’s Transport Committee and a certain change in the UK legislation.

Dominic has a team of 45 lawyers, case progression officers, paralegals and caseworkers ready to help you and prepare your case.

Dominic and his team will be on hand all day to prepare your case up to it’s conclusion.

Step 3 – Court

Not every case gets to Court. We have fantastic success rates in having cases dropped pre summons and pre trial. Other cases are concluded in absence or by negotiation with the prosecution.

But if none of those are possible and the case does proceed to a hearing, we have a specialist panel of Barristers all over England and Wales who will represent you at Court. Dominic and his team will fully brief the Barrister and arrange a pre-hearing conference to ensure that the barristers are fully prepared and ready to go.

Our Service

We are committed to providing the best service to our clients.

We are a national firm with established advocates in every area of England and Wales.  There are 45 of us at our head office and there will always be somebody available to help you with your enquiry.

You will have a dedicated case progression officer, in accordance with the case management rules.  We are here and always available to deal with your enquiries and are often able to speak to you during unsociable hours if you are unable to give instructions between 9-5.

We take any complaint or concern extremely seriously and we will try to resolve any issue at all immediately. If you do have a concern please contact Clare Hudson.  The Legal Ombudsman requires that you allow 8 weeks to try to resolve any concerns or complaints in relation to the service that you have received.

But if we still cannot resolve your concern you should contact the Legal Ombudsman within six months of your last contact with us at www.legalombudsman.org.uk or on 0300 555 0333.

If your complaint is in respect of a barrister the correct procedure is to raise this directly with the Barrister’s Chambers.
